What is it?

Using Kai, you can generate campaign ideas, reverse briefs, and fully structured, test-ready cards from a single prompt, all within your Komo hub. Kai is designed to accelerate your workflow and reduce manual setup across supported card types. Read on to learn how to get started and make the most of Kai.

How do I do it?

Step 1: Enable Kai across your organization

  • Navigate to your hub and click the Chat with Kai/Stars button in the header bar.
  • Check the Opt in box.
  • Kai will now be enabled for your organization.
  • You can now exit this modal.

Note: Only users with Owner permissions will be able to enable Kai. If you do not have these permissions, please reach out to the stakeholder within your organization who has these permissions.

 

Kai can also be enabled by accessing the 'Create with AI' modal which can be found when adding a card to your hub.

 

 

Step 2: Add an AI-enabled card to your hub

  • Navigate to your hub and click Add card.
  • Select the 'AI tag' in the list of tags.
  • Select the AI-enabled card you wish to create.
  • Click 'Create with AI'.

 

Step 3: Enter your card prompt

  • The Kai prompt modal allows you to enter a text-based prompt outlining the card you wish to create, or goals you have, from which Kai can generate a fully-functional card.
  • (1) Within the prompt box describe the card you would like to create or the goals you have. The more detailed you are with your prompt, the better the output is likely to be.
  • (2) Clicking the Enhance prompt button will take the text you have written and polish the prompt prior to submission.
  • (3) Clicking the Change tone button will take the text you have written and change its overall tone based on the tone selection you make.
  • (4) If you're stuck for ideas you can select one of the suggested prompts.
  • (5) Clicking the New suggestions button will generate 3 new suggested prompts.
  • (6) Once you're satisfied with your prompt click the Send message button to submit the prompt. At this point, Kai will generate a reverse brief for your review prior to building out the card in full.

  • (A) If Kai requires more detail prior to generating the brief, it will prompt you with clarifying questions to gather the necessary information.
  • When responding to these follow up questions you can (B) select one of the suggested responses or (C) type a response in the response box and (D) click Send message.

 

Step 4: Review Kai's reverse brief and generate the card

  • Once Kai has all required information, you will be presented with a reverse brief for review prior to card creation.

Note: The brief can be edited by prompting Kai within the prompt box on the left hand side. You will also have the ability to make changes and edits to your card after it has been generated by Kai.

  • (1) Here you can review an Overview of the card to be created with the audience, objectives and included features like data capture forms.

Note: Data capture forms will be added by default for all cards that require data capture forms for gameplay. The default data capture form for your site will be used.

  • (2) Here you can see the Colors that will be used throughout the card.
  • (3) You will also be able to see the card-specific details ie. quiz questions, spin results etc.
  • (4) Clicking the pencil or icon next to the relevant sections allows you to make direct edits to those sections prior to card creation. When clicked, you will then need to add details/instructions in the prompt box on the left.
  • (5) Occasionally, Kai will present you with an Insight which is a recommendation to improve the performance of your card based on your goals. You have the ability to accept or decline that recommendation.
  • (6) Within the prompt box, you can ask Kai to make changes to the brief prior to card creation.
  • (7) Scrolling down, you can view additional card details including prizing, communications and form details where relevant.
  • (8) Once you are happy with the reverse brief, click Create card, followed by Yes, create.

 

Step 5: Review and edit the card

  • You will now see that Kai has created your card for you. While this card is in a publishable state, we highly recommend reviewing, editing and testing prior to publishing.

Note: You will see that the card has been populated with basic text-based placeholder images (intended to be replaced with your brand imagery). While Kai cannot generate designed images at this point, this capability may exist in future.

  • (1) Click the Card cover to enter the card editor.

  • (A) Within the Setup guide you can see each of the elements Kai has built for the card.
  • (B) We recommend clicking through each of the card tabs on the left hand side to review and make any required changes to your card prior to testing and publishing. For guidance on testing, please read this article.
  • (C) Once you are ready to publish your card, select Publish.

 

 

Step 6: Generate creative ideas and campaigns with Kai (optional)

  • Outside of generating reverse briefs and creating cards, Kai can also help you come up with creative ideas for your brief or campaign.
  • Click the 'Chat with Kai'/Stars button in the top header of the portal to access the prompt modal.

 

Step 7: Ask Kai for creative inspiration

  • (1) Within the prompt box describe the idea or problem you would like Kai to generate ideas for.
  • (2) Clicking the Enhance prompt button will take the text you have written and polish the prompt prior to submission.
  • (3) Clicking the Change tone button will take the text you have written and change its overall tone based on the tone selection you make.
  • (4) If you're stuck for ideas you can select one of the suggested prompts.
  • (5) Clicking the New suggestions button will generate 3 new suggested prompts.
  • (6) Once you're satisfied with your prompt click the Send message button to submit the prompt. At this point, Kai will generate creative ideas for your review.

  • (A) Here you can review the creative ideas ideas Kai has generated.
  • (B) If you need to prompt Kai further or ask any questions you can do so within the prompt box and click (C) Send message.

 

FAQ

What can Kai help me create?

Right now, Kai is designed to help you generate campaign ideas and create Cards with a single prompt. You can use Kai to:

  • Generate and explore campaign ideas or creative approaches
  • Generate a reverse brief from a simple card goal or idea
  • Create a test-ready card from the brief with the click of a button

Is Kai perfect?

No. Kai is fast, but not flawless. Because it is powered by generative AI, Kai may occasionally produce inaccurate suggestions, inconsistent logic, or placeholder content. It is important to ensure all content is reviewed prior to going live.

Will Kai get better?

Yes, and fast. As the beta continues, you can expect regular updates that make Kai faster, smarter, and even more useful over time.

What are Kai's current limitations?

Kai is still in beta, so there are a few things it doesn’t support yet (however, many of these capabilities will be introduced in future):

  • No image generation
    Kai will insert placeholder visuals but cannot generate custom images.
  • No file uploads
    You can’t upload assets or documents for Kai to reference.
  • Single card generation only
    Kai currently builds one card at a time.
  • Card behavior may vary
    Each card format is unique so Kai's performance will vary between cards.
