Komo has a lot of cards that look similar at a glance. This page compares the interactive cards that get confused most often so you can pick the right one before you start building.

Trivia and quiz cards

Both formats ask questions with a correct answer. The differences matter. Choose Live Trivia when: you are running a scheduled, live, competitive event with a leaderboard and want to prevent replays (score integrity is the whole point). Choose Quiz when: you want an evergreen quiz users can complete on their own time, replay it, watch a video mid-question, or have questions with more than one right answer.
The “one entry per user, no replay” limit on Live Trivia is intentional — it prevents users from re-rolling their score to game the leaderboard. It is not a bug or a missing feature.

Voting and polling cards

Both let users pick a favourite option. Media support and layout differ. Choose Poll when: you have text options (or simple images) and want a compact, list-style question. Choose Vote Card when: you want people to browse rich media options — especially video — in a carousel and pick their favourite. Think “vote for your favourite ad” or “pick the best goal of the season”.

Prediction and scoring cards

For “guess the score” or “pick the winner” mechanics. Choose Basic when: you want a simple “predict the final score” input on a match preview page. No leaderboard, no admin overhead. Choose Advanced when: you are running a tipping competition, weekly predictions, or anything that needs a scoring model and a leaderboard.

Cards commonly confused with each other

  • “Can I replay Live Trivia?” → No, by design. Use Quiz.
  • “Can Live Trivia have video questions?” → No. Use Quiz with the media field or a bridge screen.
  • “Can Live Trivia have multiple correct answers per question?” → No. That is Quiz.
  • “Can I hide the Live Trivia processing-winner screen?” → No, it is not currently configurable.
  • “Can I upload a video for a Poll option?” → No. Use Vote Card.
  • “Does Vote Card do live percentages?” → Yes, toggle in the card settings.
  • “Can users vote multiple times?” → Depends on the entry throttling you configure on the data-capture form.
Swapping a video via the card editor after entries have started can create a new option and reset votes on the old one. If you need to change video content on a live Vote Card without losing existing votes, contact [email protected] — the team can swap the video for you while preserving the vote count.

  2. Do users need to pick a favourite from a set of options? → Poll (text/image) or Vote Card (video / carousel).
  3. Do users need to predict a numeric outcome? → Live Predictor.
  4. Do users need to move through a physical or digital space? → Treasure Hunt.
